Special Education Joint Task Force Meeting

  • Tuesday, April 30

  • 3:45 p.m. at the District Office Food Services Building

Due to a lack of interest the "Creating A Safe Space" Training scheduled for Tuesday, April 30, at Jordan Intermediate has been cancelled.

Your GGEA bargaining team worked hard to reach a tentative agreement for the 2023/2024 contract. This includes 15 bargaining dates with the District starting in March of 2023, plus additional days for planning and meeting with the GGEA Board of Directors to get parameters. Thank you to Tamra Wood (Bargaining Chair), Sarah Held, Arquilla Howard, Joe Miller, Theo Vo, and Paul Kim (Executive Director).

The GGEA bargaining team protected class size, maintained health benefits (no increase for members), plus got wins for Special Education, Dual Immersion, Academic Coaches K-12, plus compensation in various areas. It should be noted that Article 13.5c is in reference to retirees only, who will now be able to access district Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance. Previously retirees only had access to Medical insurance.

Several MOUs were signed throughout the bargaining process. Many expire at the end of this school year, but some are for next year. I'll indicate above each of them the date of expiration.
